New Asphalt Paving

asphalt pavingBuckeye Asphalt Paving Co. has been installing new asphalt pavements in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan for over 50 years.  Our experts know how to provide everything necessary for a quality parking lot, from initial planning to the final striping.

Construction Process

Once a design or plan for a pavement is completed and approved, the area is prepared for the paving.  This begins with excavating the site, if necessary, and preparing the subgrade.  Having a properly prepared site with a solid foundation is crucial for a good-performing and long-lasting pavement.

At this point in the construction, any needed storm sewers are installed.  Since poorly draining subgrades and/or surfaces can be so detrimental to the life of a pavement, it is imperative that the facility drains properly.

Next, the aggregate or asphalt base layer is added. This consists of installation of the material to the required depth and compacting it to the specified density. The primary function of the base course is to provide a firm footing upon which to place the asphalt surface.

Finally, the hot asphalt is added.  Like the base layer, it is installed to the specified thickness and compacted to density.  What results is a smooth, well-draining paved surface for visitors, employees, and customers, and an attractive addition to the facility.
